Communication Ensign: Sir, are you planning on going somewhere?

Twangee: He’s in trouble! It appears the Red Dragons got him! I need your help.

It is necessary to know the background, to understand and to know the story. The connection between Karitas and Twangee was a friendship that worked on many levels. Both, while equals were as mentors for each other, each had his own area of knowledge and abilities. Seeking wisdom in the ways of the Jenquai, to be one with all, but tied to none.
In this lie Karitas confusion with Twangee and his connections to Krang. How was it possible to be so connected to one and still serve the whole? Yet, for all the differences they both believed in each other and did seek the same path, to be sha’ha’dem.
Krang on the other hand was a bit odd and indifferent to his surroundings. Everyone knew that siding with the Red Dragons was a good way to anger InfinitiCorp, Terran Tradesmen lifeblood. Somehow he always managed to keep IC from finding out much, but this also kept him out of the most lucrative of trade runs.
Many of Krangs dealings took him to the outer reaches of the Galaxy and on one of these outings, he meets Twangee. It would be an odd beginning for friends, one that Twangee at times found difficult to keep. On this first meeting, Krang was in his usual state of distress.
While exploring some very remote areas for much needed minerals; Twangee found a ship of Terran origin. The ship had little or no energy signature and scans for life returned nothing. As Twangee drew nearer the derelict, he could see that the ship had taken a lot of damage in some unknown battle. What caused this ship to be here, far from any know IC trade routes, far from any signs of life?
Once he reached a distance that allowed for a visual survey of the ship, something felt wrong as if he was being watched. The flicker of light from the wires hanging off the ship through one of the many holes that seemed to have pierced the ship hull. Light also shown through the cockpits forward opening, but it appeared as if it was capable of maintaining the necessary atmosphere for a pilot.
Twangee became very uneasy; something was attacking his sense of being, his calm. He began scanning for life signs; maybe a cloaked ship, but nothing would show itself! The silence in space can drive one mad, but the Jenquai had long since gained control of such things. Uneasiness, fear, dread all could be kept in check, even anger and hate.
Suddenly, his instruments sprang to life! As if something had appeared out of nothingness, out of the dark, as if life itself had just started. Had a ship uncloaked near him? Quickly Twangee engaged his cloaking device and readied his warp engines, which would be used after he’d folded a safe distance from his attacker. His eyes searched his instruments for the direction, for the object.
Locating the object stopped Twangee dead in his tracks; the ship before him had triggered this situation. Slowly he looked up, with his eyes searching the cockpit of the Terran ship for the cause. His instruments must be wrong; he could see nothing, but the flicker of lights from the far ship. Maybe it was something in the cargo hold, but surely it was not correct, it just couldn’t be true for only the twisted wire and metal braces kept any part of this ship in order.
Something told him to open communications with the dead vessel, so he did. Through the crackle of static from such a weak signal he could almost make out what appeared to be a human voice. Something from the darkness called to him, very weak, very cold, very alone.
